It was resting on the leaf. After a few shots, it suddenly fly away, at the same time shocking me :-) I am afraid of insects but because of photography, I got no choice but to get up close & personal. All feedback welcome.

I like the comment you posted about photographing this insect. Fortunately enough, i had the same occassion with the difference that the grasshopper was having fun posing for me to get near him and shoot a couple of photos. Well done and a very good effort.

Terrific sharpness and details.Wish the insect was of any other colour. It would have been more appealing.

The same thing happened to me with a butterfly. I thought it was dead and shot a few pictures. Then suddenly it took off and flew away. I was really startled.

The shine of the leaf with the sharp detail of the grasshopper makes this an excellent shot. They are hard to capture for they jump around so! You must be quick with the camera.
