Nice mood in this image. But there are a number of things I would do: crop is tighter, adjust brightness and contrast, sharpen, and add a slight sepia tint.

I was drawn to this picture, possibly because I have just met Chris Killip and your picture reminded me of one of his Irish pictures. Lovely image.

More than one thing cross my mind while looking at your photo. Maybe it is time to think over some issues - it is very good idea, thank you for sharing. It is a good image too: perspective, b/w, compo, body language....

P.S. I prefer the original, it is stronger, honest, bold
