I captured this Okanagan winery in soft morning light after a dusting of snow. The

capture was made from my hotel balcony with no time to set up a tripod. I would

appreciate your thoughts about it.

Seen full frame I would not say that this photograph appeals to me. Its obvious the light was poor and without a tripod you would not have been able to set the best parameters. That said, it is the composition within the frame that I find unappealing. A crop from the left half of the frame just might. PS might help you get a gradual falling of the tone amongst other possible tweaks.

Rajat, I appreciate your comment. Even - sometimes especially - negative comments are helpful in putting photos in perspective. Thanks for taking the time to write.

The image has a special mood - a wintery one - I like the low clouds and mist and there is a gentle gradation from dark in the foreground to the light at the top of the image. Someone once told me that there is a thousand ways you can crop your image and is based on tastes, compositional guidelines and point of interest in your image just to name a few. I have done some minimal changes for your consideration. The one thing I would like to pass on for all photos submitted to PN is to go into PS Edit/Convert to Profile and convert from Adobe to Srgb color space. When you submit SRGB to PN you have fewer surprises and what you see at PN is closer to what you see when you are editing/displaying the original on your monitor. All the very best and keep on trucking.

Your gracious response to my crit. meant a lot to me, Larry. I really liked the effect of Tony's tweaks. The increase in sharpness and clarity is most noticeable.

Thanks, Tony. I do like your sRGB rendition better than mine here. Generally I like the way RGB brings out saturated colors, but the sRGB is definitely choice here. I appreciate your taking the time to illustrate your comment.

Hi Larry-WOW! Your fine image recalls many pleasant memories. You have captured perfectly the occasional overcast day, normally the Sun gods are in charge with beautiful sunny mild weather. Bummed around for a couple of years, working in logging camps as a faller cutting felled trees to a certain length, hardest job in my life. in BC they don.t have paths, they fall trees for the logger to walk up the slopes with his spiked boots to grip the bark carrying a six foot long bucking saw..My next job as a fireman on a hand fired coal tugboat was easy compared after the logging job.My mother kept bugging me to return home (Ontario) & take courses with my discharge benefits from the army at the end of long go days of WW2 . Cripes! i did not plan on telling you my life story or a small part of it Best Regards-Ross
