Yinka,

Very pretty girl,

Sharp focus on her right eye (because of your narrow depth of field, her left eye is not as sharp as her right eye) - Very good catch lights in her eyes - To me it looks like she is looking just to the left of the camera (I think it is best when the subject is looking where her head is pointed, unless there is a very good reason for her to have her eyes looking elsewhere) - Beautiful skin tones and complexion - Very nice use and application of make-up (She could use eyeliner under her eyes) - Good expression - Well placed background light -

I don't think you need to crop into her hair (If you give her some head room you could use a backlight and better separate her from the background or a single hair light - Your hair light on her right side needs to be moved further behind her (there is some spill on her right cheek and her neck) - You have matched the colors of her dress and background very well (the dress is a little busy and draws the viewer's attention away from the girl's face - The colors of her dress go so well with the background that it isn't as distracting as it could be).

Notice how your eyes follow the neckline of her dress down and out of the photograph. That is because there is not a logical place for your eye to stop. If you would crop below where the right and left sides of her neckline come together, your eyes would stop before leaving the photograph. If you can't crop below the "V" of her neckline you should subtly burn-in that area to help hold the viewer's eyes within the photograph.

Except for head room, your composition is quite good - I would give her a little more room in front of her (the "rule" of thumb is to place the tip of the nose in the vertical center of the photograph) - With all this in mind, you could improve your composition by just moving out a little and moving her back a bit. So that her left eye is as sharp as her right eye you must increase your depth of field (moving out will increase it a little, but you may want a little larger f-stop number - smaller opening) - I don't see any reason not to have all of her (including her dress) in sharp focus - you don't even have to worry about the background.

Your colors all work together beautifully to make this a wonderful portrait that you can be very proud of.

Good shot,

Mark
