jerrymat 4 Posted May 5, 2009 Well, it looks like a half developed fruit of some sort. Notice that the smaller green fruits are developing from the same stems. It is hard to know without dissecting it, but it appears to be what is called a multiple fruit, maybe in the mulberry family. It could also be an undeveloped fruit in the breadfruit family but I think the leaves are too small. Forward this picture to your local college botanist and I'll bet you can get an identification. I studied plant taxonomy in 1964-5, so I am pretty rusty at it by now. Was this in a tropical area? I didn't place the location name. Regards, Jerry Link to comment
