On the other hand, I would crop (or perhaps clone the upper hiker) in a much stronger composition.

These two are marvelous images, Brad. I prefer this one slightly because I find it more completely expansive. I like the curve in the sand here; the other shot seems cut off on the right to me. Although I do wish this shot had only the one hiker; I'd get rid of the guy in the top right here.

The tones and undulations in the sand are wonderfully captured, too.
