I like the comp a lot and It looks like an extremely dramatic sky. It is hard to get by the processing though. It looks pretty harsh from here. The contrast seems really high, especially the highlights in the foreground. Some more work on the processing and this one will really shine!

I have been having trouble getting the gamma right for viewing.

Hi John! This looks like a blend of two or more exposures. I love the grasses and rocks and the sky is tumultuous. For some reason, the sky, mid-ground and foreground don't appear balanced. It almost looks like you have cross-processed to where the sky is too dark to match the brightness of the rest of the scene. It is especially evident in the mid-ground, which has the value of a brightly lit scene, yet the darker areas of the sky would indicate a much darker MG and FG. Overall, I would say this is quite dramatic. I think the key is to darken the MG substantially and the FG moderately. Nice work none the less!

yes, indeed is harsh processed and not quite in an expected way, and not quite natural look, but in my opinion is still a masterpiece. i really like the processing, it looks like an artistic effect to me, and makes the photo really striking. truly outstanding, a big 7/7 from me.
