Even though I created this image, the 'real' creator was the forces ofnature and their effect on the rising smoke.

This image is a kind of tribute to nature itself.

Please try to see this as more than a photograph. Let me hear yourthoughts...

Thank You!

I can see the ghost-like transparent figure in the ashtray just in front of the well placed frame of multicolored smoke reacting to the slightest variations is air currents. As for the brown/black framed textured panels around this...well...my background is medical and it reminds me of photos I've seen of smoker's lungs.

Whether this is what you had in mind or not, this is a well put together abstract and it is aesthetically very beautiful.

Actually, the 'wall area' is, in fact, a photo of a small part of a crumbling concrete post in a wall in my yard. The idea of a 'smokers lung' connection never occurred to me, even though I have seen such a lung. I simply needed a 'wall' for this image and this seemed appropriate. The 'floor' and the 'ashes' are also made from the same image.

The photo in the back is of incense smoke and the colors are as photographed. No fake colored smoke for me since I devised a way to shoot it in color.

The 'ghost' is a mirrored monochrome smoke photo. And the 'ashtray is a 3D model made for this image.

I thank you for your kind and insightful comments.

David,

I don't know why I "assumed" you were referring to cigaretter smoke. I reread your description of the photo and nowhere does in mention cigarettes. I guess that tray somehow looked to me like an ashtray ( a very stylish one at that) and then my mind took it from there. Your explanation of the work is certainly far more reasonable than mine!! Either way.... I like the photo very much!!

The smoke looks like neon glow....love the framing - it n looks like a stage with the ghostly player making his appearance. Very original and appealing!
