camilo.margeli 1 Posted April 28, 2009 Calanda is a little village of Teruel, in Spain (3500 inhabitants). There are notices of the use of the drums from the XII century, and currently there are a great tradition in this celebration, that begins the Easter Friday, with the event "La rompida de la hora" (the break of the hour) when hundreds of drummers, begin simultaneously to play their instruments. The celebration ends the Saturday at the 14:00 when other time simultaneously all the drums stops the sound. In the middle the people continue playing the drums freely or in organized acts where a lot of drums players walk in company of religious representations. Link to comment
