Great Egret - St. Augustine Alligator Farm

The background was dark green foliage which turned to black with

exposure compensation. It's part of a series I call "Nest Life"

which is five frames of the activities in a single nest, all set

against a pure black background. Alligator Farm, EOS3, 500 f/4.5,

Wonderful. You couldn't have asked for a better pose. Sure, it would be nice to have some color in the background to hint that the egret didn't wander into your studio, but black works well with the white plumage. I bet this would make a great B&W image, too.
