The Shahsavan are a nomadic pastoralist tribe located in northwest

Iran near the Soviet frontier. These Azeri-Turkish speaking

pastoralists migrate between their winter quarters, qishlaq, in the

Mughan steppe of Azerbaijan, and their summer quarters, yeylaq, around

Mount Sabalan, approximately one hundred fifty miles to the south.

I met Bibi Jeyran in Hadadan Village/Moghan steppe and it was in the

early morning, she asked me if I wanted something to eat or drink, and

she offered me raw milk with fresh bread. It was a fantastic

breakfast! After that I took this portrait shot.
