Great Blue Heron

It was late in the afternoon. Many of the herons were flying to and from

their nests carrying twigs. This bird was still strolling around

(presumably) still looking for food to return to his/her chicks. I really

liked the setting amongst the purple flowers.

Setting is beautiful. Colors are charming. Wish the the bird was sharp particularly its head, eye and bill.

I've seen many pictures of blue herons, and they usually look so-so to downright crappy (including the ones I've taken). This one is easily one of the best. The light is great, the colours are great, and the background + DoF are great. The bird is not merging with the background. Really nice. Cheers, Micheal
