Hi everyone,

I just came back from a trip to the Camargue, the delta region of the

Rhone River in southern France.

I think this picture is a good portrait of what Camargue might look

like at a first glance: an unlimited expanse of flatlands, marshes,

lakes and sand dunes. But, at the same time, this picture is really

misleading as it may evoke the idea of a stark, almost lifeless land.

Well, nothing could be further from the truth: actually the density of

wildlife species living in this relatively small area - about 300

square miles - is simply unbelievable: pink flamingos, herons, swans

and ducks, wild horses and bulls, beavers, just to mention a few of

the many species you can easily meet while wandering about the marshes.

Nonetheless this picture portrays a true character of this land, and

that's the reason why I ended up with loving it. I'd really like

though to hear what your thoughts are about it, thanks in advance.

Details: Eos 50D, Tokina ATX-Pro 12-24 f4, B+W 110 1000x ND filter,

GND 2x, tripod. 60" f11
