Pierre, you are way over my head here with your expertise. I like this shot, but I don't understand it.

Good morning my ladies!

Thank you for your visit and for the high rating Kazimiera! I appreciate it!

Liz, my English is, as you might have already noticed, very poor, especially with idioms and expressions like "being over someone's head with something"! In the language of my village there is such an expression, literally the same words but it means exactly "I have enough of you" or "I can't stand you anymore"! If so, I mean if the meaning of what you said is the same as the mentioned, I sure can understand you because I have enough of myself too! I wish I could take pictures of sandy sea shore at sunset and a sea full of fancy yachts and sky from orange or even red to dark blue and even black clouds, nude girls running with significantly spread hands towards something invisible...but I can't! There is no sea in my village! And it is very, very ugly in any regard! So I must work closed in my working room and take pictures out of my crazy head! And what I like and what I must post to the request forum doesn't exactly match!

Let me try to explain to you and first of all to myself the possible meaning of this picture! The lizard is a representative of an overwhelmed species, which once ruled the earth! The box which I already have marked as the Pandora's box, represents the technology and science and all the magnificent and also terrifying things might be in it! It is my question - is the science and technology the right way for the Googies! Is it the right way for us! Will we find God with a help of it! Or we, the human race are being led to our end with it by someone very different from God! And against the God's will! And the caption contains that question also - will our "curiosity" "kill" us!

Maybe that was my idea from the back of my head! Who knows! And the picture itself isn't exactly most successful!

Thank you for your remark Liz and for your visit, come again some time!

Wonderful creation with the cube, Pierre, and funny title, too.

Hey Paula!

Thank you very much for the flattering comment and more flattering ratings! Yes, the cube which I am calling Pandora's box took me quite some time and effort to make it! This picture was made in five minutes since I had the Googy and the cube on PSD format! Drag and drop business, ha! I'm afraid the contrast is too low and for repairing that I will have to make it all over again, because it is important the background to remain the same, for the 3D effect on this page background!

Pierre, the comment "over my head" means the picture is too complicated for my amateur brain to understand. No insult intended for you.

Pierre Dumas [Frequent poster] , June 09, 2007; 06:22 P.M. (edit | delete)

My dear Liz, I was just kidding!

There is no way that someone may insult me, offend me, hurt me...I'm untouchable unlike some too touchy guys and gals, ha! And thank you for your caring about my feelings! I really didn't KNOW the meaning of the expression, but I guessed that it was exactly what you explained! I'm just playing with words sometimes and I can't help it, that's the way I am! I apologize for that silly habit and hope you will accept it!

Hello Pierre!

I like this photo! I also like your explanation! It sure gives pause for thought! One day that Pandora's box will be opened!

Very interesting. This must be an homage to that graphic artist Escher! Ted Scholten

I for one am glad that lizards have started thinking outside the box, so they won't meet the fate of their ancestors, the dinos.

C'mon...

"Had to delete..."

Possibly your own reasons...

I don't see any substantial reason though.

Congrats Dear Friend !

O.K. so I read all the comments and must say that I really like this work because of the angle and suspension of the box , the pleasing colors and the cute lizard. Guess I will never be very serious about abstracts if I don't look deeper than the surface. Very interesting thought process behind this work. Take care, Deanna

Great work. I like the composition with only to elements. Deleting this is a crime against creativity :) So take care mate ;) I will be watching you.

This is excellent Pierre! Love the symbolism behind the image. Thanks for the explanation! Some of us less educated bums don't pick that all up ;-)

All the best,
Neil

The box intrigues me. (I don't know what it is.) The composition concerns me. (Not too much you understand.) The image baffles me. (I am easily baffled.)

David, here's once more my explanation from the first upload of this picture, reply to Liz Weisiger:

Really fascinating.  Kind of reminds me of the box from the movie "Hellraiser".  It seems that you are trying to convey technology as the content judging by the references to a computer board's circuitry on the exteior of the box.
