A pleasant surprise sunrise. The forecast was for wind and clear skies and I almost bagged the trip to Paso Robles, but I needed to take care of some business and headed out at 3:30 am to arrive near Cambria at dawn. No wind and great clouds instead, so I planted my tripod in a field of soft grasses and panned 5 vertical shots. This scene is along highway 46 between the coastal highway 1 and Highway 101 and it is seriously beautiful. From this location you can see Morro Bay and Morro Rock some 10 miles to the south. Cambria and this region would be my ideal retirement location. I later stitched the 5 frames in Photoshop (btw, the dots on the highest part of the hill on the right are grazing cows). Thanks for stopping in!

What's to say Mark? This one has it all. It is exceptional country. I might have taken to those big grasses with the pruners but it's a minor nit. A very rewarding trip, I would say.

Mark. This is simply beautiful. I love the rolling contours of the hills and the wonderful array of the clouds. Perfect exposure and composition. 6/6 anon

Thanks Jeff, Salvador, Sonia and Ricardo for your impressions. I have done my share of gardening to get the right shot, but generally prefer to take pics and leave only footprints. Besides, those tall mustards were giving me a small splash of color. I have attached a closer look at the cows!
