Great shot Mike! I like the composition with the tree on the left and I like the combination of textures and colors too. Kind regards, Luis

outstanding tones, perfect choice of the station point and gorgeous colors, the combination red-green-blue is just perfect....that car should have been somewhere else...like in the garage, but I guess that you couldn't do it yourself....anyway,a great photo.congrats and a double seven, sir.

Beautiful work Mike. It looks so inviting and peaceful. I love the colours and the play of light and shadows on the drive. Well done!

Magificent shot of this old country house, the vivid colours and POV are amazing.

the colours are great. On one hand the photo has a happy undertone, on the other hand it looks too busy...almost claustrophobic. There is too much going on in there, with very little free space to take a breath. Cheers, Micheal

This is a beautiful photo. I looked at it before reading the title and thought it might be a thatched roof but wondered about the gables. They are so unusual (to me anyway) and really attractive. I never knew a thatched roof could look so nice.

IF you live in this house it would have been good to move the car (even though it's a really nice blue. ;o) But if you were just out on a random photo shoot the owners MIGHT have gotten a little miffed had you moved their car yourself. LOL

And I have to say I don't feel anything but peaceful and cozy when looking at this, not crowded at all. The colors of the sky, the house, the surrounding plant life, even the shadows all work to make this a very 'comfortable and inviting' scene IMO. Very nice!

While I don't ever remember it looking this good, seeing this makes me homesick! Wonderful colours and perfect framing. The one thing I would do differently is take the shot without the car - simply because it's a modern reference in an otherwise timeless scene. And a great scene it is too, so many layers and details. The eye flows into the picture. Really great job - I'd hang this on my wall any day.

Thank you all for thoughtful comments and kind words - they are much appreciated. I would have loved to have had the chance to go back and try to take the image again without the car but unfortunately we were only on holiday in England for a few weeks and never had the chance. Thanks again.

All the best,

Mike
