Cute girl, very natural and relaxed pose, nice synergy between the chair upholstery and the tones of her hair. The cropping is a little awkward as the chair is a square form shot pretty much dead-on (symmetrical) and you've got it placed asymmetrically in a dead black rectangle. I'd center the chair a little more and place it in a format of the same proportions, letting the dangling leg look more like a spontaneous gesture than a part of my composition. The black is a little heavy for your subject--perhaps a brown similar to the tones of the chair, and a little shading or vignetting? Your lighting is very effective, particularly the bright annular highlight across the bangs that models the shape of her head.

Tanja,

Very pretty girl with lovely red hair - Sharp focus - Good catch lights - Nice skin tone - make-up age appropriate - Nice expression.

This chair looks out of place in a studio type shot (maybe in a living room or sitting room would work better - This chair is much too busy (it takes the viewer's eyes away from the girl) - Her right hand is posed well, but I would like to see a cascading of her fingers a bit (they look a little stiff) - She looks a little awkward in the chair (left knee up too high toward her face and it appears that her right foot should be out a little further) - Maybe the chair would look better if you moved in very close and only a small part of it was showing - If you leave the shot the way it is you should crop some off the right off to balance the picture (too left heavy) - You need a backlight or hair light to better separate everything from the background - There is no question that chair does not work well in this setting (I'm not sure where it would work - if at all).

Good shot,

Mark
