It's about 8:30A and commuters are already pouring into the city center. Bahnhofstrasse is the main commercial artery of Zurich where banks, financial institutions and major stores are located. The busy street is full of people marching purporsely and although there is a lot of activity around, it never seems chaotic. There seems to be a sense of "orderly chaos" that permeates through the air.

Adan, I'm familiar with that central point. You are right about the order here, very much the Swiss character....Good point of camera and B/W conversion. I hope you have enjoyed your visit.

Adan, you dog, off to Europe and back again. You're probably already planning your next trip. I, on the other hand, have to be dragged kicking and screaming onto the plane. I think of plane travel as the contemporary "Iron Maiden". You want the terrorists to spill the beans? Just shoe horn them into an economy class seat on United. After two or three crossings of the Pacific they'll start singing like a canary. Now actually being in Europe is another matter. Strolling down the Bahnhofstrasse (how the name rolls off the tongue), skipping merrily out of the way of passing trolleys or "strassekars" as they are known there) or stopping at an outdoor cafe for a big dish of sauerkraut and pickled pigs feet - what could be better? Now if they can only figure out some sort of ion ray for inter-continental tele-transportation - now you're here, now you're there - I'll join you on the boulevard for a cappochino. So, "beam me over, Scotty!" and meanwhile I'll enjoy your continental photo smorgasbord from the comfort of my own computer screen.

Pnina - you are right about the Swiss character. Zurich is a great place to visit and live, but it comes with a high price, literally. This is my second visit to this city and I am convinced that it is one of the most expensive ones in Europe. I heard that Moscow and Oslo are quite high also but I have not had the pleasure of visiting them (at least not yet). .London is pricey too but I find Zurich to be more charming and manageable.

Jack - Ah, someone has got to do the travel. You know what they say, one man's torture is another one's bliss...something along those lines. To me, how you get to your destination is just as exciting as getting there. However, I can sympathize with your pain. Crossing the Pacific is not as easy as crossing the Atlantic. It is a more tedious journey for sure. You got good taste my friend. Pig's trotters are delicious and I cherish eating them whether it is Chinese style with a pungent and sweet ginger sauce or the French way with Bernaise sauce. As for meeting you for a capuccino, count me in anytime.

I'm almost too jealous to type. Blessed be the ties that bind, but they sure prevent globetrotting. Wonderful picture here. I like the face-off between the two trains.

Thanks Jeff. There is a slight tension between the two trains indeed. Sort of like two bulls facing each other. I thought about it after I took this shot.
