GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted April 10, 2009 Thankyou Cynthia.....who would have 'thunk' we'd be living in a time such as this...biggest worries at one time, not only our health and that of our families'.....putting a decent meal on the talble....and paying the utility bills (although these are still worries of many).....but living in a 'whirling dirvish' that circumvents our minds.....every day, more threats of the unthinkable become part of our lives. In 1915, again.....1915(can't believe this quote is from that year)..Omar N Bradley graduated from West Point Military Academy, N.Y. He authored these Wise Words...."Ours is a world of NUCLEAR GIANTS and ETHICAL INFANTS. We know more about WAR than we know about PEACE; more about KILLING, than we know about LIVING. WARS can be PREVENTED just as surely as they can be PROVOKED, and we who FAIL to PREVENT them, must share the GUILT for the DEAD. Withe the MONSTEROUS WEAPONS man already has, HUMANITY is in DANGER of being TRAPPED in this world by its MORAL ADOLESCENTS." This to me, says so much about the HUMAN CONDITION and is an all TOO SAD reminder of how far WE HAVE NOT PROGRESSED. My heart fears for my children and grandchildren......and the future they will and are facing. For myself, if we are all here, the next 20 years will pass all too quickly.....for them...I hope they have the opportunity to experience all the joys I've taken for granted far too long. One of my gransons is 16 and in the Army Cadets in Ontario....they enjoyed a year end trip to New York City 2 years ago, among the 'sights' was a visit to West Point. He'd taken some great Photos with a little Sony Cybershot he thought was broken....Beside his bed he had a 'Memory Wall' for all his achievements in Cadets and school, so I decided for Christmas that year I'd take his Photos(inserted into templates)....and write a little history about each place....I found this quote on the West Point (graduates) site.
