and the expressions are beautiful, but there is one element that i find disturbing, the younger girl expression is somehow restrain. I wonder what is the reason, is this due to the lack of adulthood and being capable of cope with all the problems or strange situations? Or is it pure shyness?

The photo is very good of course, technically and aesthetically.

6/6a

Marta thank you; Mario thank you. Mario, I cannot explain the young girl. Perhaps as you suggest it is because I am a stranger ...not to mention a culture she has never had contact with.

Witting their names is such a great generosity , it means that you believe in their individualism as human beings, each with different thoughts and ideas, you connected us to their human spirit and not their background, very democratic. l like the expressions, the point were the hands meet is most touching part of the photo, its a human feeling we all share regardless of anything else, this made me think again about our different similarities, or similar differences. Very Human. By the way the camera made them very friendly with you! and this proves that photography can cross so many boarders were politics, religion, philosophy and other great man kind inventions fails . Very good photo.

I love the contrast of the expressions between the young and the old. It seems to suggest the hope that accompanies a mature faith. Wonderful image.

Ahalan Meri,

Another one of your interesting social documentary shots. And a very good one.

Love your pictures - and I feel a strong affinity to your way of photographing.

Kol ha kavod. And wishing you a Hag Sameach.

All the best

Peter

They are your neighbours, aren't they? as you know their name...

(when living in Rabat, Morocco, I was living in Residence Amal...)

Depends on what you mean by neighbors. You mean they live by me; in my neighborhood? No they do not. They are Palestinian, not Israeli......... Amal means "Hope"

Meir,

again, quite an image! I find the composition here very strong, following the diagonal from the upper left to the lower right. The detail of the different color of the scarfs is also fortunate, the expressions excellent and the detail of the hands other have already cited is quite sweet. A lot is coming from these three different faces. Really well done!

Meir, a wonderful and warm portrait, well captured with nice expressions, I like the slight lean of the two to the left, the geometry, the holding of hands ....The picture is full of feelings conveyed clearly to the viewer very delicate and beautiful ones at that....a touching image.... regards

Excellent portrait, Meir. Do your subjects ever ask for a print? My grandfather had a photo shop on Martha's Vineyard, a summer resort. He would go on the beach and photograph the tourists. The next day the prints he had made the evening before would be in the window of his shop and people could come in and buy them. Now people ask me to send them photos on the internet.

Best regards, Leora

Yes, people sometimes ask. I generally give a print to those I can locate again. I have been shooting Amal and Suha for 2 years now. They have a lot of prints and they get paid very well for some of them. Mira gets a few shekels too and sometimes candy :-)
