mazevedo 0 Posted April 12, 2009 A mixture between still-life and portrait with a fantastic result. And what an expression given by the girl.Warm regards,--MAA Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 13, 2009 Facundo, This being in the portrait category, I will critique it as a portrait of the girl. Pretty girl - Very nice tones, including skin tones - balanced well - good pose (left hand could be turned a little so that you are showing more of the edge of the hand - more feminine and slimming to her hand) - you do have some leading lines pointing towards the girl (this is good) - good sharpness. No catch lights in her eyes. Her ear is sticking out of her hair. You do have some problems with this a photograph of the girl: You have a split portrait (the girl and the statue - they are the same size, but the statue is "looking" toward the girl - this gives her more importance (dominance) even with the statue at a higher level in the picture, but she is looking out of the picture, not into it. This makes for a very confusing relationship between the two major subjects in the picture. When you have two subjects within a picture you should have one dominant over the other, but you should also show a relationship between the two subjects. What is the reason you have the two subjects within your photograph? I do not see a relationship here. They are both "looking" in the same direction, but you don't show what, if anything, they are looking at. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
