dacamera 0 Posted April 7, 2009 An excellent example of big view photography, lovely detail and spot on exposure in those bright clouds. Simon Link to comment

ryourth 0 Posted April 7, 2009 Dick, you have captured the vastness of this landscape wonderfully well, depth of field & detail are great..What I really like is the greeness of the scene, normally images from this area are the usual browns of the desert.,or does this only occur in the springtime. regards-Ross Link to comment

rarmstrong 0 Posted April 8, 2009 Thank you all for the very kind comments! Ross, it is because of the elevation here(about 4000 feet above sea level) and the fact that it is Spring. Our guide told us that the flowers would be in full bloom by the end of April. We did see quite a few small ground flowers on the hike. It is a spectacular area. I would like to go back and do some more exploring. Best regards, Dick Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted April 10, 2009 Really great shot of Red Rock. Nice clouds with a great view of the Spring Mountain Range. I'll have to check out your details and see when you were here. Excellent capture and well done...RAY Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted April 10, 2009 Thank you very much, Ray! For me, this was the best part of our trip to Las Vegas. This is an incredible place, as you know. We took a guided hike on the Keystone Thrust trail on Friday April 3rd. We started out at 9 am and by about 10:00 the wind picked up and some threatening clouds appeared over the mountains to the west. By the time we finished our hike it was snowing...hard. I was hoping to head out to Death Valley on Saturday, but my wife and daughter weren't up for it. Maybe next time. Best regards, Dick Link to comment
