Guest Guest Posted April 10, 2009 Claudia, I don't think I would crop it any differently - the large area above your head balances well with the long shadow below. Positioning of your face looking into the picture is just right. The framing of the branches around your head and body couldn't be better. I like the feeling of movement from the lower right to the upper left of your body and tree branches. There are religious overtones to this image. The light areas around you are like the pieces of a stained glass window. It appears you are wearing a robe or cloak of some kind. All you would need is a veil and we could call you Sister Claudia. Perhaps the implied movement upward is a foretelling of an ascension to a much higher plane. May this prophesy occure many many years from now. Only negative: I wish the stains on the pavement were not there. This is a very fine self portrait. Much better with much more meaning than shooting your own reflection in a mirror! Congratulations. claudia romero godat 0 Posted April 10, 2009 Wow, Mark, thanks so much for such an "indepth" analysis of this shot... You sure pointed out and viewed things I hadn't and loved your interpretation of it. It was a quiet and peaceful moment and I did appreciate the interesting patern of the baranches' shadows... I am glad you liked the composition. I am not very fond of PS, but I will remove a few of the stains on the floor, see how that looks :) Thanks again for all your interesting comments and your time! eclecticbuzzard 0 Posted April 12, 2009 I really like this one. I like how her silhouette is framed by the trees. I wonder how it would look with the color taken out and sepia toned? Link to comment
