The light here is stellar. Transformational. I also like the long line leading up the aisle to the altar.

The level of noice with ISO800 is not apparant. Use of light & exposure within this interior is brilliantly executed.

Rich, warm, poignant, reverant. The details -- to the little bit of colorful stained glass window, the quiet silhouette of the woman praying, the shadows, and beautiful Madonna and child make for a lovely, moving piece of art. Happy Holiday

Thank you everyone. I'm planning to shoot this scene again, but may have to pay someone to sit in the pew. Donna, it's time you posted another image.

Very nice and well composed with the statue in the FG that is a center that leads you inside, very good atmospher of soft light and silence, and subdued color palette.

800 ISO and little or no noise! You handled this well! I like the way you framed the shot. Well done!

You read my mind ... I been thinking lately about grabbing some shots in a church myself, Roger - are folks free to walk in and out of any church and shoot usually? I am not really a church goer, so no clue if photography inside is freely permitted. Thanks.

Thanks, Pnina, Joseph, Dale & AJ. Dale, access depends very much on the church. Catholic churches seem to be the most open. Obviously services can't be disturbed, and probably no flash.

Wonderful, soft lighting, and warm colors. Great DOF.....I presume this is an HDR? A small thing is that I could have used just a bit more definition of the silhouetted figure sitting in the pew. But I love this!

Thanks. Christal, not an HDR - I'm not a huge fan of HDR, mainly because I haven't had much success with it. Also, I'm not convinced as to its necessity, but I'm not an expert. I had a real battle with the light here, made harder because I wasn't sure how welcome my shooting would be to those at prayer.
