Is this what it looked like 'Before the Batmobile', as Batman tried to get

around? Your ratings and critiques are invited and most welcome. If

you rate harshly or very critically, please submit a helpful and

constructive comment; please share your superior photographic

knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

but I don't have much ‘constructive’ nor ‘helpful’ criticism to offer John and this morning my ‘photographic knowledge’ is anything but knowledgeable. But a good thing you were awake to this odd street moment - it certainly merits a picture. But I should say even if I appreciate your including the crowd I think this belongs in a VERTICAL frame! Or perhaps a square frame shot frontally from way below as to include everyone: the crowd, Batman and helpers, and the sky, much as we see it now. But you see how not only I’m re shooting your picture in my mind’s eye, but I’m telling you about it and that is rather in bad form. I apologize. As I said, nothing much constructive to offer. Carlos.

I had just arrived at this 'act' and had no idea what to expect, settled in to photograph it, and was just as surprised as the crowd.

As a photographer, I take command and move in front of the crowd as though I 'belong' to a famous news organization or otherwise have 'charge' and try to keep low to not bother people and keep excusing myself. I don't confine myself to one place with the crowd and keep there or I'd never get a shot.

So, when these guys hoisted 'Batman' atop their arms at his signal, I was surprised, but stepped forward and by instinct took two shots and chose the frame where there was a 'bend' to the right for interest. It seemed entirely 'surreal' to me, despite the crowd.

It's going to be a 'click' favorite and is already because it shows as 'interesting' in thumbnail even if it disappoints more 'larger'. Some photos are like that.

If I had studied the act, this is still the preferred shot, but I also would have considered your possibility, but ran the chance of being run over or trampled -- what did I know about where these guys were going if I knelt?

And the guy was up there a short time. Mr. Animist is his name and he's VERY FUNNY. I met him afterward. He's a fine talent and I wish him success because he has a GREAT sense of ironic humor.

And a little 'surreal'. If you're in 'beach' California and you see this guy, don't miss him. I understand he's auditoining for TV and I hope he does well, he's worthy.
