Nice shot Liz. The boy`s expression is captivating, and the tone puts it all together. Liz, have you seen the info and sample pictures from the new Digital Rebel, the 500D?

Good light for this shot & his face is toward the source which nicely reveals the shape & textures of his head. Focus is correctly on his eyes & the backround is appropriately soft. I'm thinking that this is more likely a candid because the angle of his face is not what one would expect from a planned portrait. I would like to see this image with his head less centered, moved more to the lower left corner, thus giving him more space in front of his face. Just some observations. Best, LM.

Thank you all for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Len, I always appreciate knowing your thoughts. It's not "portrait", since I was sitting on the ground near him while his mother was talking to him. I like your suggestion about the crop. I played with that many ways. And I finally decided to make his face and upper body the most prominent, due to his expression. Again, I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

Liz, beautiful boy and a portrait,. I don't have a problem with his placement of the frame. very good light and conversion. Each of us has his point of view, but the photo is yours....;-))
