thomasmckown 0 Posted March 29, 2009 Just beautiful! I love the vivid colors. It looks like a scene right out of a movie. Link to comment
arash khoshghadam 0 Posted March 29, 2009 the image is phenomenal in many ways. compositionally, the low angle of shooting and the focal length have captured the rock in the foreground as a lead-in into the frame and links the optical movement to the trees and the sky. the complementary color scheme ( blue and orange) adds to the tension and impact of the image. your shot has an underlying mood that is well preserved. bravo. chrisvest 1 Posted March 29, 2009 excellent rating by arash, so not much to add. the flowering of so many of the same species filling the landscape makes it quite an event, and looks like a very fun place to be, especially to be able to bask in that rich evening sunlight. i wonder what time of year it was taken? (seems a bit early now). Link to comment

deans 0 Posted March 29, 2009 The combination of the colors, yellows and blues, the glow of the sky and the setting of all the compositional elements make this a special photo. I would be extremely happy with a photo like this. Dean Link to comment
amitai schwartz 0 Posted March 30, 2009 These shots can be hard to do right. You've done a nice job here. Clarity and composition worked well. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted April 3, 2009 Hello Floris, I am in awe of your image here. It has many favorable attributes. The lichen covered boulder, the vast yellow of the fiddlenecks, the single tree giving separation by breaking the horizon, the mountain occupying the open left background and the mix of clouds and deep blue sky topping off the scene. I would assume this was your first time here. You did well with finding a great composition among many potential comps. I am very familiar with this area, I shoot here regularly, since I live in Bakersfield. I invite you to visit my Central Valley folder which includes several images from this site. Take care!
