stephan dietrich 0 Posted March 28, 2009 In special tribute to my wife's grandfather. I have always admired a special rose plant that is planted at my wife's grandmother's house which was planted by my wife's grandfather some 30+ years ago. A rose bush with no name tag, but with the most brilliant scent and vibrant yellow/orange/apricot colors. Sadly, my wife's grandfather died before we met (24 years ago). Through all of these years, that same rose plant blooms in all of its glory. I have looked many years to find a similar rose plant and plant at our house, but could not find one ... until the other day. I came home today and the last rays of light were shining upon our newly planted Honey Perfume rose bush. One pedal captured my attention and I quickly captured an image that spoke to me. sonneland 0 Posted March 28, 2009 Stephan, some say your never done for, as long as you have a good story and someone to tell it to. I like your story as well as the image. As to your image, its strong enough to stand on its own, the white on black framing i find distracting, but that is just me, as the image itself is really lovely. Link to comment
bob_t 0 Posted March 28, 2009 Of the three rose layer shots, this one is my favorite. I like: 1. the strong diagonal. That edge in perfect focus. 2. the echoe of the diagonal in the uupper petals. 3. Just the right DOF for me. I know what it is, no mystery. But the DOF provides a softness. Well done! Link to comment
