marcadamus 1 Posted March 27, 2009 Sunrise, frozen desert playa. Brutal cold and blowing snow on this day, but it made for some interesting photography. Link to comment

dallalb 0 Posted March 27, 2009 This is a stunning shot! The wind's traces, the floor pattern together with the vertical composition add a great sense of depth to the image and lead the viewer's eyes to the beautiful pastel sky in the background. A wonderful shot in such a difficult situation. Kind regards, Alberto. Link to comment

hopsage 0 Posted March 29, 2009 I saw this one on your site awhile back. You seem to have been working this composition (vertical presentation of a wide, sweeping plain, small element of colorful sky, and strong converging foreground to background lines) for a few years now and in many different ways. It's as close to a "signature" Marc Adamus image as any I've seen. Of the ones I've seen, I think this is by far the strongest, and not just because I know and love the Alvord Desert, too. Everything comes together just right here, and the long-exposure softness of the converging lines works perfectly for the windblown snow, for the same reasons it never quite worked for me with the ocean images. The softness of the lines and the ghostly glow against the dark playa really gives the effect of a fierce, biting wind. Very effective storytelling, and a gorgeous visual presentation. Another one to the favorites. Link to comment
