Hello Jeffrey. That's it my photo.net friend. Keep at it. Looks like the lighting was a bit harsh. Or it could be the light-colored sandy ground reflecting added light. These kids look to me like they come from the Tibetan side of Afganistan. They find reason to smile despite their harsh life. Possibly you offered them candy if they let you take their picture? ;-)

Thanks for stopping by Gary...this was in bright sunlight so did what I could under the circumstances. I like this image for the reasons you allude to...you see so much cultural diversity here in Afghanistan and amazingly there is no pretense, what you see is what you get. At the school where I took these pics this day, I saw at least 6 different cultures represented...I thought these kids were cute just to see the differences in their faces. It is my understanding that there are many Tajiks in Kabul, witch are from the North of Afghanistan. Jeff.
