Hi Art X.

I always appreciate your creations, but I have to admit I prefer when you go a little less extreme in colors and contrasts. But it's no critics on you, it's just my own personal feeling.

Keep sharing, ... Piet

Magnificent work. Specially your post work on the sky is brilliant. Very dramatic but also it adds to the total beauty of the whole photograph. Take good care. Best regards from Jannica

Hi Art!

I see you are like me and you like to shoot in the dark! :-)

The sky is amazing.. great color in the clouds from the moonlight.

I think this is really nice, but looking at it larger it seems a bit soft in the focus. I can understand that because I have that trouble a lot with my darker images. You didn't put down your meta data, so I don't know how you captured this, but I'm thinking that maybe a higher f stop might do the trick? I'm just speculating, because I struggle with this myself. I love your post treatment here and it looks really good in the small size. I hope you don't mind my suggestions, I just know that's how I am learning from others. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Sarah

Christopher and Sarah thank you for your thoughts. Actually Sarah I dont mind at all. In fact this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps me learn and become better. Thank you so much for your feedback. I dont have the exact details of this shot at hand but from memory I was using a 18-55mm wide angle lens, f/7.5 or 8.5 (I think) aperture priority. As a result shutter speed was around the 20s mark (possibly a little higher) which all seemed fine EXCEPT (:)) I then attached a wide angle lens adaptor (which created some ghosting), as if that wasn't bad enough, I placed my tripod on a bridge that, when people walked past, created vibrations (which at 20s shutter speed created the out of focus problems you correctly mentioned). As far as the clouds were concerned they would always remain out of focus due to their movement through the 20s shutter opening. This photo was much much worse and only through some CS editing have I managed to bring it back a little. I appreciate your feedback and will pay closer attention to your suggestions in subsequent shoots:) thank you

Hi Art,

Well.. I can really appreciate the problem of having pedestrians on a bridge while you are shooting at slow speeds! I had that problem when I was shooting in Zion and had to keep waiting for the bridge to be empty.. I'm sure its not so easy in more populate areas. Anyway.. thanks for your comments... we do the best we can given the fact that not all situations are perfect, eh?
