jerrymat 5 Posted June 12, 2013 For a "Grey" glacier it looks pretty blue doesn't it? One of my big thrills is to walk on the glacier surface. I was privileged to do that several times in the "Blue Glacier" of Washington state. I have images posted if you have interest.Jerry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 12, 2013 Hi Sam, Isn't Patagonia wonderful? This image reminds me of Glaciar Perito Morneo that we visited when in Argentina in 2008. Might you want to crop out some of the water. The blue of these glaciers is amazing. You may also want to consider some more processing - such as added saturation on the ice and reduced highlights on the sky to bring in some detail in the sky and clouds. I trust you had a wonderful adventure on this trip of a lifetime. Larry Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted June 20, 2013 Larry, thanks very much for your story and comments. The water surface in this image is very becalmed as compared to the water level much further down the glacier lake when I travelled there in that rather small excursion vessel, which jumped up & down the wild waves, caused by wind roaring down the valley from the glacier's surface.I feel the blue in the ice is blue enough, but the actual appearance on site depends much on sunshine & the angle with which it hits the ice.So, any blue could be alright as long as it looks good in the eye of the photographer ;-)cheersSam Link to comment
