Interesting shallow DOF. I remember my stay at a Ryokan in Miyajima Island off Hiroshima similar to this. It was lovely looking at the deers in the mountain and flowing river outside the veranda during Autumn.

Brad, French & Japanese culture flowing in California. You are competing with André Kertész’s Chez Mondrian.Very good exposure,DOF & tonal quality.

Thank you, my friends, for leaving very kind comments!

I see something in common between Mondrian's paintings and traditional style in Japanese architecture. Spaces are divided by straight lines, creating exquisite balance, harmony, and beauty.

By the way, Andre Kertesz is a great photographer I admire hugely. He's one of the greatest.

I cannot compete with him. No way!.... His "Chez Mondrian" is a masterpiece.

You are so right about the overlaps between Mondriaan and Japanese architecture, Brad. Your personal touch, fading 'Mondriaan's' sharp edged lines, is adding more than change for change sake. Masterful. toast
