Guest Guest Posted March 24, 2009 Alexander, Beautiful girl! Nice sharpness to eyes - background well out of focus - very good skin tones, I would like to see an increase in your depth of field - I don't like her hair out of focus. Your angle is strange. Why would you shoot down on her - especially looking down her top to expose her breasts? Her strap on her shoulder should not be showing. Not enough room in front of her head. Much too crowded on right side of image. Either she has incredible skin or your image was over Photoshoped - it doesn't look natural. Lighting is a little flat - it looks like an on camera flash was used. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
ak-arts 0 Posted March 24, 2009 Thank you Mark! Thank you for the hint on the DOF, the angle has an explanation, it was an ocasion shot on the stairs, I were on the 2nd floor and she were the 1st, it wasn't my concern exposing her breasts...actually, never cared about it too much and that's not what I was looking for in this portrait. I do not soften the skin, I removed just 2 spot, in fact she has a very clean skin, using a wide aperture helped to soften a little bit just out of the camera. The lighting is all natural, the roof has a big window to illuminate the stairs. It's a quite heavy crop, since I hadn't time to frame carefully when I shot this, I can improve the composition, thank you very much. Link to comment
lopezslf 0 Posted March 24, 2009 As snap shoot I thing it is great, specially because you are showing this beautiful girl, great eyes and smile. I would like to suggest if you have that very good natural light, try to get a better angle or avoid direct lighting. Regards Link to comment

shambhala 0 Posted March 26, 2009 I do not agree with most of Mark Chartrand's comments but after all, photography is subjective and our work might not please everybody. Having said that, his comments are thoughtful and constructive and I'm glad you've explained to him how you got about doing that wonderful shot. The one thing he says that I agree with is that the bra strap is distracting. Also, I would clean up her stray hair on the top of he photo. Gorgeous shot for a gorgeous happy girl! Link to comment
