davidmccracken 2 Posted March 22, 2009 I have been looking at this image for a while and there is something about it which bothers me. At first I thought it was the focus but it's not that. The focus suits the type of image that it is. Then I thought it was the harshness of the light but again it suits the image. What it is that bothers me is her eyes. I really do think you would have nailed this shot if the eyes were symetrical even though this is something that rarely happens naturally. Link to comment
jerrymat 4 Posted March 23, 2009 I too find the eyes distracting. However, I think she has the look of one quite comatose, suggestive of a blunt blow to the head. The eyes look unfocused, parallel, staring into empty space - I almost expect this to be a police photo of some tragedy. Of course, I don't know your intent. If I have stumbled onto it, I suggest a slight trickle of blood coming out of the mouth. Or perhaps the drug paraphernalia could be included in the background. Whatever the story in this picture I find the lighting and tonality to be excellent. The sign of a good photo is that one wants to look at it for a long time - this certainly qualifies.
