Spirit of the Mountain

I haven't had much time to shoot any landscapes this year with my trip to Paris and

working on my new website which is live now. The latter issue has had me

reprocessing a great deal of my portfolio. This one has always been a problem child,

the high contrast difficult to tame with my initial 5 minute processing workflow. I

have triple processed the RAW file and I find the result now pleasing enough to

include in my portfolio and maybe even enter a competition or two. The light was

pretty special that day so I'm glad to have a vertical companion to the landscape

format shot I already have.

Kah Kit,

I've been a fan of your work for some time, and always enjoy seeing new entries. On this image in particular, I'm wondering if you can share how you oriented the hard edge 3 stop filter. In situations like this, I usually resort to using no filters and blending multiple exposures in PS, but I'd like to learn how to better use my split ND's so I can get closer to the final image in camera. Thanks for any insight.

The soft diffused light is amazing, the texture on the rocks is wonderful. This is awe inspiring. You have such a talent you shouldn't have to do anything other that take landscape photos.
