kentw 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Hi Monte -- This must have been a difficult photo to make - a night flight image. Frankly, I do not know how to set up a shot like this one. Hand held 500 mm lens with flash and Beamer! Wow! Setting that aside, in my opinion, it is not up to the very high quality other work of yours I have seen here, mainly because of the distracting background. The owl appears to be impaled by the left support beam. Not much detail to see in the wings and body. On the other hand, the face, and especially the eyes, are terrific (typical of your bird photos). nhut-nguyen 0 Posted March 18, 2009 Tracking down an owl, handholding the 500m, photographing it coming straight at you at 1/60 and still getting a sharp & perfect focused shot...those are amazing things you did. Link to comment
maggies 0 Posted March 18, 2009 Monte...great 3d like image...I like the background...it helps to delineate the owl...Marjorie Link to comment
carlwakefield 0 Posted March 20, 2009 Congratulations, its like being a fisher man that gets the catch at the end, I bike from work home every evening and recently saw an owl cross my path in a street light. To see him is one thing to get him on photo is another. Really well done. Regards Carl Link to comment
