Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted January 13, 2013 Sam, Hi. First, how fortunate you are to have been in Antarctica! Realizing the limitations of shooting from a cruise ship, I'll offer a couple ideas, not meant to be negative criticisms. One, I'd crop out most of the water, close to the large ice floe near the shore. Two, I'd try to reduce highlights on the snow to eliminate blow out. Definition seems lost there. I've tinkered with the image some. See what you think. Best to you. Larry Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted January 15, 2013 Hi Larry, these type of pictures are often shot 'on the run' under light conditions which may change all the time & are anyway unfamiliar. Of course, thatg's not a reallly good excuse for quality problems.Yeah, I see your point of view & appreciate your attempt to remedy a few of the shortcomings.Although I'm a nearly neurotic cropper of images... here I think the vastness of the water surface gives perhaps an idea of the scale of these mountains. But that's open for discussion & differences of tastes. Thanks very much for your thoughtful comments and input in improving this image.cheersSam Link to comment
