lizroche 0 Posted September 9, 2009 Hi Sam, i really like the simplicity of your shot. The soft cloud sitting on the mountains is great too. I think that some people may want to see a main focal interest, or indeed something to indicate the scale... but still for me this shot is a beauty! Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted September 10, 2009 Hello Liz, thank you very much for your comments, appreciation & critique. To give you an impression of the dimensions, I'll add an image from Google Earth with an indication of the width of the bay which you see here nearly entirely. (The next photo in this series shows the right site,) I feel the focussing 'point', or better 'area', is the white low cloud hanging over the slopes of the central part. Still, in the wide expanses of Antarctica it is extremely difficult to grasp the magnitude of mountain heights &/0r distances, as no ships or buildings are there which could serve a yard stick. Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
lizroche 0 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi Sam, the vastness is truly amazing when viewed on Google earth. I totally understand that it is virtually impossible to get a passing ship or other yard stick with which to convey the sheer scale of your photo. Amazing landscape! Regards Link to comment
