Short Story About Long Noses (clik image for larger view) During my two visits two Iran I've noticed that many women had small bandages on their nose. I finally asked my guide about them and he indicated that these women had recently undergone nose reconstruction surgery . I've always considered Iranian women to be quite beautiful and didn't understand why so many want surgery until I looked closely at this photo that I snapped in public garden. As you can see in this profile image, particularly the first and last ladies, they have noses that resemble beaks. Apparently this is a common hereditary feature among Persian women and is what they are trying to soften with surgery. The white dots that appear to be on their garments are actually sprinkles from a pond fountain that separated me from them.
