Hi Dick, like this catch very much, especially in Large,it creates a real feeling of being there & you could reach ot & touch the birches..Our snow is nearly all gone, expect you have lots left, dare I say,"Lucky you". Thanks for your comments on my prairie pic. yesterday was the first time I've seen it since posting .. My computer's ones & zeroes became complertely befuddeld & yesterday was the first day back on line. Take care-Ross

Hi Ross, I wondered where you were, glad to hear from you! Thanks for the comment on this. This is one of my local favorite spots and the late afternoon sun helps out. I've been leaving my Sigma 30 mm prime on the camera lately and trying it out for various shots. I'm really liking it.

Have a good night!

Thank you, El, Jean-Marc, Tim and Lawrence! The snow will be gone soon...thank goodness! It will be time to start the search for the early small flowers:-)

Have a good day!

Dick... Not only a very compelling scene, but the b/w conversion is flawless, as usual. The pines give a very solid feel, the saplings add filler and the birch are dessert... Excellent... Mike

Thanks very much, Mike! This spot lends itself to these shots. I'll be interested to see how it looks as the snow melts and the leaves start to appear. Actually, the thought of leaves appearing is very appealing about now...it's 5 degrees here today!

When I converted this I was a bit concerned about blowing out the side of the birch that is facing the sun. I decided that what I have here is just about what the sun intensity was when I took the shot. I'm glad that you like it.

Best regards,

Dick
