I concur that this is a better image. However, I believe this is due to the higher contrast giving it a more dramatic "look". Again, incredibly sensual, especially in B&W! Kudos to all three of you.

than it's only..."sensual"?!!!. I feel that this image and the other 2 of this series are intensely erotic in the most cleanly and playfully sexual way. An image conveys a very healthy attitude toward sexual intimacy of two adult females. Bravo for the fine work, John. I like the fact that these two gorgeous models embrace and express their sexuality as ...a part of life.

 

Oh! The statement above has nothing to do with my sexual preference. In fact, i practice abstinence...at times ;o).

Sharp image. Good composition. I don't see a reason not to shoot it vertically. I would also move in closer to the girls. Overall image looks a little muddy. The skin tones look better than the rest of the picture. Background is too busy, but at least the objects in the background are not in disaray. The picture behind the seated girl is not straight and I don't like the lines going into her head. I guess the high-heels and stockings are suppose to look sexy, but it "cheapens" the girls so that they look a tad tawdry and dates the picture (30's or 40's pseudo porn). I do like the way the seated girl seems to be taken off guard. I think that makes the photo. Good shot.

Mark, it is "chic porn", by all means reminiscent of the 30's, stockings and all, and no pretence to the contrary, in fact it's voluntary and already pointed out in introduction to another of the series. Admittedly, I don't believe in straight lines either (they are usually quite easy to correct if one wants to). As I'm always pointing out, some of the most well known images in photography have lines that go all over, zero impact really on a photo (a recent example is the exhibition of Patrick Demarchelier's work at the Petit Palais in Paris). But this is my opinion, you are perfectly entitled to yours. I know I've quoted him before, but I do enjoy Ansel Adams that said "there are no rules, only good photos".

 

On the other hand I like a "busy" background and favour it in all my work. Otherwise, it simulates studio work, as would a close up of a vertical image that you suggest. I think a clean cut, clothless photo would loose it's interest in the context presented obove. Well, that's the author's point of view, and I'm certainly glad to receive yours also. Thanks for pasing by.

I keep coming back to these images. They are some of your best work. Everything (the light, the shadows, and the use of B&W) works together to create the incredibly sensual (and sexy/erotic) effect. You should enable ratings, this is definitely a 7/7.

Thanks Jim, admittdely the girls love them, they are giggling all day ... one of them threatens to bring them out and show her boyfriend everytime he argues with her ... :-)

 

.. as for ratings, I enabled it on my tryptic just to see what happens and to my astonishment it received some good points .. :-)

Great as usual John! It really is loyal to your previous work, even tough the theme has changed a bit. You have a talent of bringing the best from your models and I like the most the use of location instead of studio.

 

As of the two photos, I myself, like this one more. I like the snappy edge and contrast.
