Every Friday, there is a market fair in the city. It is very colorfull, this is a scene in that square.

Thanks for viewing.

An excellent capture, full of life and color. The juxtaposition of the female profile with the cheek-line of the dancer is fantastic.

Have a nice week,

Tibi

It's cool that you've photographed this almost as if it were a dance on stage and his costume even suggests such a thing. The way her profile peeks out from behind, even the way the slightly out of focus vendor in the very near background looks on with a somewhat untelling expression. It's a fairly tight shot so I get the feeling you are "closing in" on them. The lighting really draws us to the guy in the background, who watches it all without really telling us how he feels about it, leaving it for us to decide.

He looks like he needs some cooling off and hydration :-)

The visual play of the face in profile behind the man is enhanced by them both receiving the same light. I like this image, it is clever, fun and very colorful to look at.

Cynthia,for your feedback

Tibi, thanks it is the timing...;-)) Standing ready with the camera set up ,waiting for the right moment (The decisive moment.... Henri Cartier Breson.... ;-))

Thanks again, Janusz.

Fred thanks, yes it is a street show in the center of the city, it is less a dance ,and more eccentric show in the square to collect some money. I was less interested in the " show" and more in that corner, because of the strong contrast of light between the two, the colors, and the woman, I somehow anticipated what I want, really waiting to the right moment.

Gord ,as I wrote to Tibi and to Fred, I was like a "hunter" for the right moment. I was lucky , ready, and it turned as I wanted it to happen, I have some frames, but this is the best .

I upload anotherone ,just to show you all how it really looked in the square.

great color and light Pnina...what strike me is the superposition of the girl's head as if he would wear a mask...it creates a wonderful confusion that is so nice together with the dress....an increadible juxtaposition and coincidence that you captured millimetrically....

Not my type of photo but fun to look at for sure. I like the man in the bg . He seems to be as confused as I am. Ha. The shadowplay on his back looks interesting. I also like how the womans face comes out of your subjects head. A lot to look at.Nice

Pnina, you can't get away from dance even when you go shopping. Quite a character you've captured here; not your run of the mill street dancer. The composition is part Degas, part Captain Bizarro but it certainly has its own elegance.

Now this isn't something you see every day. What a colorful character. I'm sure he brought a lot of smiles along with him.

Thanks Gail, Amal,Bob and BC, appreciate your feedback.

Laurent, I was ready with my camera, I saw the woman behind him, and waited to see what will happen when she moves..... Her face is the result. Thanks for your comment and observation.

Joe, thanks for your impression, not all the photos we comment on must be to our liking, and still we can find what is good, interesting in them as a composition , content and execution.

Jack, thanks, "part Degas, part Captain Bizarro " fits the scene... as the whole "spectacle" was bizarre, and attracted attention of many people in the square. When he went to buy some water, than it began being interesting for me.....

Jeff, it was unusual "show", bizarre disguise and hands decoration. He wanted attention and got it, also some money...Thanks, yes ,smiles as well.

The surimposition of the profile behind the head of the dancer is excellent ! And I ilke very much the patterns of the shadows on the back of the dancer.

I was a bit confused at first with the waiter in the back who is so lit. But then after taking time to look at the photo, and realising that he is the observer of the scene at an angle that is forbidden for our won eyes, meaning that he can't himsef appreciate the illusion of the two faces. And that's probably why he looks worried.

Good story Pnina, excellent colours. I like the look of surprize of the man behind the counter.

Did you lift up the exposure, and whole balance ? The photo now seems brighter and less contrasty than it was in my memory of yesterday's viewing of it ...

Laurent, thanks for your nice impression, no I did not touch the photo, maybe you saw It yesterday in other light conditions?,

Thanks for following up .I think that the lighted man on the L is balancing the closer dancer on the R .

Dimitris, thanks as well for your impression.

... how memories about an image can evolve and change.

And this is not only because of a specific monitor ( I went to look at the photo again on the monitor I used yesterday )

This is actually fantastic : I have a surprise every time I look at the photo ...

And I agree with your balance ( even more today than yestarday ;-) ), it is just that for me, the balance, interestingly , is slowly unveiling while having a good look, instead of beeing jumping at our face.

I appreciate your follow up and concentrating in looking closer. I think that if one sees interest in a photo ,and is coming again to look at, he can see things that were missed in the first time. Thanks for doing it. ;-))

Actually I ALWAYS look carefully at photos ( and images in general ) which are attracting me.

This is why I can't use the the Rate Factory page, were you can't really see the photos in the proper format the photographer choose to upload it,

because it is very important to read not only the title, but eventualy what the photgrapher wrote as an introductory or explaining text to his/her phtography,

because it is also for me extremely important to understand the whole artisitc or technical or philosophical approach of the photographer, so If I'm attracteds by a photo of a photographer I didn't notice before, I'll spend the time to go through the whole portfolio.

That is also why there are a few photographers I have now been a bit more familiar with the work, and who are ( as you are ) the photographer, I'll always visit very regularly, with attention and in priority before going to the critique forum were I can discover new exciting photographers.

Take care

laurent

Thanks again for writing your way of looking at photos, and following some of them, I think that with personal nuances I do the same. I enjoy looking at other works, especially when I like the photographic approach of certain photographers.

Thanks for this nice conversation, glad to see you active a bit more, Laurent.;-))
