I was attracted to this image immediately re the thumbnail - the color, light, subject and the superb background all combined to give me visual delight. I was somewhat disappointed to see some of the low scores without comments. But please don't be discouraged. From a technical perspective I offer the following but I may be out in left field so take it with a grain of salt. Based on the exif data on this image your aperture is almost wide open which means a lovely background bokeh but not much DOF to play with. IMHO, the red oval shaped section is the element on which I would have focused - instead the focus seems to be slightly behind it. I might have taken two or three shots (its digital so no problem) varying the aperture - wide-open (I presume) as you did in this one, close down a stop, shoot another and close down another stop and take a third one. Finally, I would have darkened the two light colored leaves since light colors attract the eye and in this case, away from subject. Often when you close down a couple of stops, you hit the sweet spot of a lens for better results.

Again - I was attracted by the thumbnail.
