Funtak 0 Posted March 5, 2009 You have caught the light transforming the water in to the walley of fading day, the compo serves the idea; what is realy in our grasp? Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted March 6, 2009 There is a feeling of wilderness to this image of quietness. Nice angle & choice of B/W Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 6, 2009 You are the sun spoksman....and skilled one you are, it is a calming moment of end day. Very good light, and conversion to B/W , as a symbol of the soon falling night. Link to comment
davidorea 0 Posted March 6, 2009 Beautiful vertical composition, Jeff. The scene, clouds, textures and atmosphere are unique. High quality image. Congrats! Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted March 6, 2009 Mysterious and somewhat sinister mood you captured here. The distinctive layers with their sharp details are fascinating. Is that a dead bird resting on the rocks? Link to comment
jbm 0 Posted March 7, 2009 And black and white suits it beautifully. I assume you burned and dodged a bit and it looks quite nice. I love it. Cheers, Jay Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted March 7, 2009 A surreal landscape, the way the rocks reflect the light as brilliantly as the water. As almost as if the light has a life of its own in this one. Nice perspective which gives those rocks such an enormous presence and the photo such a grounding in getting started. The distant sky really does beckon, as if it's a world totally outside this cove. A sheltered vision. Link to comment
paullink 1 Posted March 7, 2009 Quite theatrical. It seems that you set a light source on the left.I like the fact that you included more rocks in the frame than the sunset. And i don't say anything about your choice of B&W.It multiplies it's surrealistic sense.Regards Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted March 7, 2009 Margaret: I was looking over my past photos and decided to post something more conventional. I don't know what is in the rocks. I think it's a bit of plastic netting that has washed up. Koushik: Alas, the mermaids were on their 15 minute coffee break when I arrived. Jose: Thanks for your review. Appreciatively. Vladimir: The light seemed to naturally form a pathway across the water. I helped it along digitally, of course. Janusz: Thanks so much! Cynthia: Peace in return. Thanks for noticing the title. El: I like B&W more than color photos most days. The color version of this one seemed a bit lacking in drama. Thanks. Emmanuel: Thanks from me and my ball of wax. Mehmet: I'm glad you like this one. Keith: Thanks. I appreciate your thoughts, given your fine work. Linda: And so it goes. Cherlyn: This was taken in Ogunquit, Maine on the shoreline, facing the ocean. A lot of wilderness left there. Pnina: The sun. I couldn't think of a better entity to represent. Photography is all about light, as they say. David: This scene seemed to hold some magic. Thanks so much. Adan: Do you really see something sinister here? Hmmm. I guess the shadows contribute to it. Thanks always for your poetic thoughts. Jay: I put a curves adjustment level and did some selective masking just to heighten the contrast a bit. About five minutes of work, if that. The scene seemed to do the work for me. A.K.: As you said, everything begins again. The title sounds more final than I intended. I was thinking of the sun's point of view. Lawrence: Thanks so much. I hope your weekend is fantastic, too. Fred: With these landscapes, I try to have three distinct parts with a place to step into (nicely put by you). The light seemed to do the work here, leading through the scene quite nicely. Thanks. Apostolos: I thought the rocks were more interesting than the sunset, personally, especially with a B&W photo. The original color version lacked something that the B&W version captured. Thanks.
