This is a photo that for me needs no words at all. And from time to

time, when sad, I just look at it. I invite you to peek at it and see if it

has any affect on you -- and invite your ratings and critiques, which are

most welcome. If you rate harshly or very critically, please submit a

helpful and constructive comment; please share your superior

photographic knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks!

Enjoy! John

This was a very, very long ways away from me, captured with the 200 mm end of a zoom telephoto. I even had to walk toward this scene to get it within the boundaries of the frame as I wanted to capture it.

Actually, this is rather tightly framed as are almost all my others, but it just appears not, because you may think the 'subject' is the guy, but of course, it is not, although he certainly is part of it . . . . ;~))

Thanks for the kind comment.

I didn't buy a Jiffy Lube 'gift card' -- in fact they were rather rude to me there.

I won't be buying anything from them, as a result.

The last time they did my oil, they put in my oil plug at a Jiffy Lube and now I am told the plug is cross-threaded.

No, this is not an advertisement for Jiffy Lube -- far from it.

I just can't pass up a good photo, even if it doesn't meet my specifications for whom or what I'd like to portray with felicity.

So, no 'gift card' and no future oil changes.

Thanks for sharing my very 'wry' humor on this one (some didn't seem to 'get it'.

Too bad for them, I think.

Maybe they think all good photos should look like Ansel Adams took them.

I don't.

Never have.

He took wonderful photos (of one genre, but there are numerous genres), and he certainly was a remarkable craftsman and had an artistic eye and soul, but would he have seen and captured something like this?

I felt somebody had to, and in this case it was I.

Raters in general, if one views the ratings, don't seem to think very much of this photo, yet, its appeal seems to be almost magnetic, far outdrawing much more 'artistic' photos of mine posted recently, and not surely because those photos are so much better.

This photo is a hard one to 'get a handle on' because it is so far 'different' than anything posted here on Photo.net, but it has genuine worth in my view, and also in my viewfinder.

It made me chuckle then, and continues to do so now.

It may just take a 'wry' sense of humor to 'get it', but some have a correlative sense and others don't. That's fine.

Like 99% of my postings, this one will stay, and already it's in my most-viewed folder, after less than one day posted.

It'll stay for sure, and although it is an unusual, and certainly not beautiful photo, I cherish it.

It makes me chuckle to view it.

I once had a teacher, the famous Esther Hettinger, who said "any student who can make me laugh will get an 'A'".

She was famous; when she retired the Saturday Evening Post, or was it Look Magazine(?), wrote a glowing editorial about her and her roommate (read that lesbian lover, my geometry teacher Mary Mattingly) their dual careers as teachers.

A good laugh should be good in anybody's book for an 'A' at times.

Especially in hard times.

(I'm not begging for high ratings, I don't care what you rate so long as it's honest and not just cursory -- e.g., thoughtless drive-by.)
