kathyb 34 Posted February 18, 2009 Pay no mind to the low ratings. This is a good shot! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted February 18, 2009 Agree with Kathy.... and I really like the unique composition and perch. Excellent detail, too... Mike Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Thank you very much, Kathy! I don't mind the ratings. People have different tastes and there is nothing remarkable about this image. I just was happy that I could get it. Shooting these little birds is a lot of fun. If I could critique myself for a minute(and I do this daily) I would say that I'd like it sharper. So, I need a better tripod, a cable release and a faster lens. This was taken in low light at 1/125 sec with my lens wide open(f5.6 at 400 mm). So, better equipment, better technique and a faster long lens and who knows...maybe there would be no 3s:-) I really appreciate your comments! Dick Link to comment

rarmstrong 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Cynthia, I was sitting on the snow, about 12 feet from the feeder with the camera on the tripod and my eye to the view finder...firing off shots as fast as they happen. I took about 40 frames of this bird to get this one pose. Thanks for looking! Dick Link to comment
