pukovnik 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Honestly, this photo looks to me to empty. Empty sky, two-dimensional fence, monotone building with no details. Link to comment
mark_q 0 Posted February 18, 2009 I must say that your later output clearly shows you are entering a higher level in your art as you are striving for certain purity, so it seems now. This photo is killing me, teasing my curiosity and imagination; what would I see if I were allowed to look down? This is quite a bold capture with pleasing color palette. There is some driving tension here as you have forced the top of the rail run horizontally and making the verticals tilt towards left. So, I'd love to hear your thoughts about your decision doing this way. Having horizontal levelled and verticals vertically would be correct but maybe too static then. One picture tells more than 1000 words, so let me show the correction for further discussion. By doing this I do not mean this were better version, no. Lets talk? Link to comment
janc 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Hola Markku. Thanks a lot for your nice point of view about this shot. I know every new day I try to think less about how shots are process and let myself follow my instinct. I will try to explain you the life of this shot, it was early in the morning, I was walking up a street towards East and at the upper end there is an square in front of a big old building, the sun was just in front of me, I walk some meter to the right and placed the sun just behind that old house corner, I shot some shots with diferent compositions, but this one jump from my monitor when I saw it, telling the truth I did not thought about if its lines were vertical or not, so I enjoy sharing it with friends. Now thinking about verticals, as you point, I steel prefer the original, perhaps because that tension they transmit. I include another shot with a wider focal so you can see a little bit more around that place. When I have time I will develop some more shot about this moment. Abrazos. Link to comment
