The light was good and the mountains were clearly visible, which is rather uncommon in the southern end of the Central Valley near Bakersfield, Ca. My attempt was to include as many of the reddish-brown vine stands as possible in a receding pattern, appearing to vanish into infinity. These grape vines are probably used to harvest grapes for raisons or for juice; the wine grapes are grown in more mild climes to the north and east near the coast. This was taken about 10 minutes after the sunset. The best vantage I could get for the effect was from the top of my car. Please enjoy the Larger preview, as it is loaded with detail!

Mark, I like this composition better. It has more daigonal elements and also quite dynamic with that adjacent structure. Lighting is nice in the sky with that pink glow.

( I think it would be also great to expereince the same spot with some fresh first golden yellow light, when the young leaves are just out. That will also glow in that light and there could be great show of light and shadows with those lines on the ground.)
