quasifoto 0 Posted February 16, 2009 Top Notch Photo! Love the dark toning and the yellow cab. Also, the new and old buildings are an interesting mix. Great Job! Best Regards ~ Gary Link to comment
richard_arthur 0 Posted February 16, 2009 Great photo, as already stated by others. I would suggest turning the yellow taxi in the background into black & white also to put the focus of attention solely on the taxi in the foreground which appears to be entering "into the darkness" as per the title of the photo. Art X Photography 1 Posted February 16, 2009 Thank you all for your kind words and ratings support. I really appreciate all that you have to say. Richard, I agree with you to some extent about the yellow taxi. actually I was thinking along the same lines but instead of B&W i was simply going to tone down the yellow so thats it's wasn't as distracting. Why I eventually didn't? I think I wanted it to stand out for the impact between colour (light) and B&W (darkness). thank you all once again Link to comment
mattmcclain 0 Posted February 17, 2009 great shot. the clouds are fantastic. the contrast is wonderful. Although, I think it would be so much stronger with out the yellow cab. it is very distracting. takes away from the strong features of your image. Matt Link to comment
Art X Photography 1 Posted February 17, 2009 Jeffrey, Anabela, Matt, thanks for your comments. I agree it can be distracting Matt but the impact just isn't the same without the dramatic colour tones. here is a version that shows what I mean Link to comment
nachosaezdeugarte 0 Posted February 17, 2009 Fantastic work. Very well done. I like it very much. 7/7 and my best regards. Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted February 17, 2009 Actually I like both equally, perhaps the muted one even better. Among my choice of favorite images there is a similar shot of San Francisco by another photographer, if you care to check it out. This is especially beautiful with the sky and a familiar building peaking out. I especially love the dramatic perspective of the buildings towering above. Very Very well done! I do not do this often but a well deserved 7/7 anonymous Link to comment

pietje 0 Posted February 17, 2009 great work Art X.mostly I'm not realy supporter of the BW with colored subject to catch the eye ... most of the time it is to correct a lack of power of the image. In this case however, it is IMHO a great succes. ... Piet Link to comment
jefvandenhoute 0 Posted February 18, 2009 It's one of those rather rare examples where selelctive coloring really works strongly and adds to the impact and the drama of the image Link to comment
mattsilva 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Very nice shot, Art X. Pardon my ignorance, but would you mind telling me your post editing software? I painfully use iphoto. Baby formula before pleasure:). And thank you for your critique earlier. Link to comment
